I grew up in Vancouver, Canada. I got bitten by the philosophy bug in high school when I read a one sentence description of Descartes' cogito in my 10th grade history textbook. I subsequently majored in philosophy and did eye-tracking experiments in a cognitive science lab while earning my B.A. at Simon Fraser University. In 2011, I moved to Durham, NC for graduate school where I decided it was time to finally learn to play a musical instrument (other than the recorder) and took up the drums. In August 2017 I returned to Canada to take up a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Toronto. When I'm not making a racket or doing philosophy, I enjoy hiking and taking hockey a wee bit too seriously.
